Job description

Salary range: up to £30,000

Location: Birmingham

Company Overview: Drivvn is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company transforming the automotive industry through cutting-edge eCommerce solutions. Founded in 2020 and operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of the TCC Group, Drivvn empowers major automotive brands like Stellantis, Ford, Volvo, and Volkswagen to deliver seamless online vehicle buying experiences. More recently it has entered the vehicle leasing space, working with MHC and Leasys. Its digital retail platform supports every stage of the automotive sales and leasing journey—from vehicle configuration to financing—while enabling real-time integration and omnichannel capabilities. The company predominantly operates in Europe, with plans for expansion. Drivvn generated approximately £8 million in revenue for FY24.

Primary Purpose & Scope

As a Content Designer, you will craft the words and on-page content that bring our customers’ online car-buying journeys to life. Working from customer requirements and briefs, you will write, structure and optimise web content that is clear, engaging and unmistakably on-brand. You’ll also bring the design sensibility to know not just what to say, but how it should look and sit on the page.

You will work hand-in-hand with our designers, product teams and customers, interpreting brand guidelines and tone of voice for some of the world’s biggest automotive brands. You will own content from brief through to publication in our content management system, optimise it for search, and act as a confident, credible point of contact for clients along the way. While these are our current ways of working, we remain pragmatic and open to adopting the best tools and approaches to achieve our goals.

Drivvn provides a class-leading automotive e-commerce platform delivering over £2bn in online sales per annum, used by global OEMs to accelerate their direct-to-consumer business. The content you create will directly shape how those brands speak to their customers, and how millions of people experience buying a car online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write the web content. Produce clear, engaging, publish-ready web copy for our customers’ online car-buying journeys, turning customer requirements and briefs into content that informs, persuades and converts.
  • Design content in context. Partner with designers to shape how content sits on the page - hierarchy, structure, placement and length - to build pages that read well and perform. You’ll design and publish directly within our custom-built CMS, working creatively within its constraints to deliver content that looks as good as it reads.
  • Select and optimise visual assets. Choose the right imagery and video for each piece of content, ensuring visual consistency using client-supplied assets. Make sure all media is high quality, properly formatted and optimised for web performance, so pages load fast and look sharp on every device.
  • Own voice and tone. Interpret and apply each customer’s brand guidelines and tone of voice, keeping content consistent, accurate and unmistakably theirs across every page and touchpoint.
  • Optimise for search. Apply on-page SEO best practice across keywords, metadata, headings, internal linking and readability, so content performs in search as well as it reads for the customer.
  • Manage the relationship. Act as the content point of contact for customers, taking briefs, presenting and explaining your work, handling feedback constructively and building trust as a confident communicator.
  • Edit, QA and publish. Review, proofread and edit your own and others’ content for accuracy, consistency and accessibility, then publish and maintain it through our custom-built CMS platform.
  • Raise the content bar. Develop and maintain content standards, templates, patterns and style guides that make great content faster to produce and easier to keep on-brand across multiple customers.
  • Use data to improve. Use analytics and search performance to understand how content lands, and iterate to improve engagement, conversion and findability over time.
  • Partner across the business. Work closely with design, product, engineering and delivery teams to turn customer needs into content that ships on brief, on brand and on time.

About you

  • Proven experience producing and editing web content, ideally gained in a digital or creative agency, or an in-house web / e-commerce team, where you wore more than one hat.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a strong command of grammar, structure, clarity and on-brand tone of voice.
  • A genuine eye for design and layout: you understand how copy and visual design work together, and can judge what looks good on a page and why.
  • A hands-on understanding of on-page SEO: keywords, metadata, headings, structured content and writing for both people and search engines.
  • Experience working to brand guidelines and flexing your writing across different brand voices, audiences and markets.
  • Comfortable adapting content for multiple markets, with an understanding of how tone, terminology and messaging may need to shift for different regions and audiences. You don’t need to speak every language, but you’re confident using AI tools to localise and tailor content across markets, and you know when a human review is needed to get it right. If you do speak one or more additional languages, even better.
  • A confident, credible communicator who can take a brief, present and explain your thinking, and build strong relationships internally and with external customers.
  • Comfortable working in content management systems and digital publishing tools, with the appetite to pick up new ones quickly.
  • Highly organised and self-directed, able to manage multiple briefs and deadlines across several customers at once.
  • A background that blends content with design, marketing or product is a strong advantage. This role suits a versatile all-rounder rather than a pure copywriter.
  • A positive, proactive and energetic attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for transforming the digital automotive buying experience through great content!

We’ll let you know if you’re invited to an interview or not. But, as a small team with a lot of applications to consider, we can’t give individual feedback on each application.
