Role: Technical Writing & Content Management
Location: Melbourne, Sydney
Experience: minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical project
Key skills required:
- Tertiary qualifications/ Certification or accreditation in a related field (Knowledge Management, Communications, Adult Learning & Education, Business, or related Field)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical project environment (preferably Telecommunications)
- Proven technical writing experience (3-5 years) in producing technical documentation, refine and/or define work instructions.
- Demonstrated experience in technical writing, editing, content management, process excellence and procedural documentation of processes.
- Familiarity with business process engineering and re-engineering.
- Familiarity with document production, publication, and management standards.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies such as AGILE, waterfall.
- Familiarity with change management methodologies such as Prosci and or ADKAR.
- Ability to read and write technical and engineering documents, and comfortable explaining engineering and technical ideas in user-friendly language.
- Ability to produce content for publication in a variety of formats and media including HTML, Adobe Acrobat PDF, Help files.
Responsibilities:
- Content life cycle management - creation, maintenance, and archive of knowledge articles (project and non-project driven).
- Curation and moderation of user generated content knowledge.
- Knowledge must be tightly governed, organised, accessible, searchable, easy to understand and apply. Types of knowledge articles include:
- o Work instructions,
- o Quick reference guides (QRGs),
- o User guides / system instructions,
- o Frequently asked questions (FAQs),
- o Technology overviews,
- o Troubleshooting and Diagnostics guides
- Create and maintain key operational documents provided to Retail Service Providers (RSPs)
- Work with key contacts to elicit requirements, define document, and validate technical information and instructions.
- Report regularly on WI progress/status and manage the business/stakeholder governance procedure.
- Facilitate and obtain relevant document review, edit, and endorsements so that documents can be handed over for publishing aligned to project timelines.
