Job description
The opportunity
Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, 30 million people around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a UX Writer to join our Copy team. This experienced design professional will write the words that attract, onboard, and continuously engage the people who use Grammarly. They’ll be able not only to apply the Grammarly style guide but influence its growth as well. In partnership with Grammarly’s growing Design team, the UX Writer will write the words that help users all over the world to improve their writing.
Your impact
As Grammarly’s first dedicated UX Writer, you’ll build on an existing body of work while establishing the UX writing discipline at Grammarly. You’ll have the autonomy to create delightful user experiences alongside your Design partners, and will help shape the product components of the Grammarly style guide alongside the leader of the Copy team.
- Within your first 30 days, you’ll become immersed in Grammarly’s product strategy, our internal style guide, design philosophy, and existing user experiences. You’ll begin to build relationships with your cross-functional collaborators.
- By month three, you’ll know the Grammarly style guide and product design process by heart. You will be able to branch out to more types of writing, from microcopy to longer in-product content to explanatory articles about Grammarly’s design philosophy.
- By month six, you’ll have influenced not only copy but also the design process at Grammarly alongside your many Design, Copy, and Product collaborators.
- By year one, you will be able to implement and maintain a consistent content strategy throughout Grammarly’s product, across interfaces and user touchpoints.
We’re looking for someone who
- Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
- Believes that great stories can change hearts and minds.
- Has significant experience in UX writing, product content strategy, and/or content design.
- Has excellent writing and editing skills; can make text short and friendly without sacrificing grammar and quality.
- Can articulate the reasoning behind copy choices.
- Leans into a big-picture mindset that considers not just copy but the entire user experience.
- Has experience contributing to UX writing style guides (not required but a plus).
