As a Technical Document Writer, you will be part of the India Operations Centre (INOPC-PG), contributing to a global value chain where business activities, resources, and expertise are shared across geographies. Within the Transformers Business Unit, this role supports the delivery of high-quality engineering and digital solutions aligned with Hitachi Energy’s global footprint strategy.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Technical Documentation Development, develop and maintain documentation for Engineering systems and digital applications. Tools, algorithms, and configurations and user manuals, technical guides, and process documents.
- Transform complex engineering inputs into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Ensure documentation completeness across the product lifecycle.
- Prepare and organise documentation including drawings, reports, manuals, and related artefacts. Maintain structured folder hierarchies in DMS/EDMS systems. Ensure documents are well organised, easily accessible, and consistently formatted.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to:
- Internal documentation standards and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Maintain templates, formatting guidelines, and version control practices and support audit readiness through structured and compliant documentation.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with corporate branding guidelines. Apply consistent formatting, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy. Enhance readability and maintain a professional, uniform presentation across all deliverables.
- Develop and publish documents using Adobe InDesign (mandatory) and MS Word and PowerPoint (advanced usage). Prepare documentation for both digital platforms and print-ready formats. Ensure usability and readability for global audiences.
- Maintain documentation within approved repositories and systems. Support lifecycle activities including creation, review, revision, and archival. Ensure appropriate classification and controlled access to documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and digital teams. Gather inputs, validate technical accuracy, and refine documentation. Ensure documentation remains updated in line with product changes.
- Identify gaps in documentation quality, structure, and usability. Improve templates, writing standards, and document presentation. Support the adoption of digital-first documentation practices.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Technical / Non-engineering acceptable) with 3–5 years of experience in technical documentation and document management or governance.
- Strong understanding of document management systems (EDMS, SharePoint, etc.) and document lifecycle and workflows.
- Hands-on experience Adobe InDesign and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint – advanced level).
- Knowledge for sharePoint, EDMS/DMS tools, PDF publishing tools(xECM). Knowledge of RMS/AIP or similar governance tools.
- High attention to detail and quality. Ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Strong structuring and organisational skills and effective stakeholder coordination. Proactive and self-driven approach.
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and security of documentation. Drive standardisation and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
