We’re expanding our talent network and seeking experienced Freelance Technical Writers to help clients create world-class documentation for their platforms, products, and processes. Your responsibilities may include:
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as user guides, API docs, developer resources, SOPs, and product manuals
- Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to gather accurate and up-to-date information
- Writing clear, concise, and user-friendly content tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Contributing to internal knowledge bases, onboarding guides, or policy documentation
- Ensuring consistency in voice, style, and formatting across all deliverables
- Managing documentation workflows using tools like Confluence, Git, Notion, Markdown, or ReadMe
- Adapting and updating content in response to new product features, software releases, or internal process changes
- Auditing and optimizing existing documentation for accuracy and usability
Required qualities may include:
- Proven experience in technical writing, documentation, or product content
- Proficiency with tools like GitHub, Confluence, Markdown, Notion, or API documentation platforms
- Ability to quickly understand technical systems, software products, or workflows
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, support, etc.)
- Strong command of grammar, structure, and documentation standards
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects across clients
- Experience working independently or in a fractional/freelance capacity
- Bonus if you have a background in engineering, UX writing, or developer education
