About Stoke
Stoke is a content-focused studio that helps organizations uncover, shape, and share their stories with the audiences that matter most. The team combines strategic storytelling, content marketing, and data-driven publishing to attract new customers and convert engagement into measurable business results. Stoke works across digital channels, emphasizing authenticity, contextual marketing, and owned media to build sustainable, long-term audience relationships. By blending creative narrative with analytics, Stoke supports clients in growing social reach, strengthening brand influence, and achieving clear performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- In this position, you will lead content strategy engagements for clients, defining narratives, messaging frameworks, and content plans aligned with business and marketing goals.
- You will create and refine long- and short-form content, including web pages, thought leadership articles, customer stories, campaign assets, and social content, ensuring brand consistency and audience relevance.
- You will collaborate with internal and client stakeholders to conduct discovery, synthesize insights, and translate data and research into actionable content recommendations. You will oversee content calendars, manage workflows and deliverables, and continuously optimize content based on performance metrics and feedback. You will also provide editorial leadership, reviewing and polishing copy to maintain high standards of clarity, accuracy, and impact.
- You are a team-player who digs in: Copywriting, rewriting, copy editing, interviews -- you'll do it all, and, in fact, this services-level work is an excellent way to train on an account in order to manage a team.
- This role has the potential to evolve into a full-time position.
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong background in Content Strategy, with experience developing content roadmaps, messaging architectures, and multi-channel content plans.
- You know how to tell an emotional story -- whether it's a customer story or a SaaS messaging framework. The core of Stoke storytelling is always human, and you know what this means. A journalism background is preferred, but experience writing long-form content that requires interviews and the synthesis of multiple sources also qualifies.
- Hands-on experience in Content Management and Content Development, including managing content workflows, calendars, and production processes.
- Advanced Web Content Writing and Writing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating clear, engaging, and audience-focused digital content. B2B experience is required. Background in B2C is also great!
- Proven ability to use analytics and research to inform content decisions, measure performance, and iterate on strategy.
- Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders, facilitating discovery sessions, and presenting strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a remote environment.
- 5+ years of experience in content strategy and writing roles; agency or consulting experience is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
