Technical Writer (Insuretech)
Our client is a modern, feature-rich, full-cycle insurance policy administration system designed for insurers, MGAs, and brokers seeking to optimise their processes, accelerate product launches, and enhance connectivity. Their cloud-based, no-code platform transforms the administration of insurance, delivering a seamless user experience across policy, claims, and billing functions.
Role Overview
The Technical Writer is responsible for the creation of technical documentation that clarifies the product’s technical specifications, features, and benefits. The role collaborates with various internal stakeholders, including the Development team, the Product team, the Training Department, and the Sales & Marketing department, utilizing client requirements and scope documents to create technical product documents. The role engages with the various stakeholders to gather product information, collate this, and craft this into clear, concise technical documents that benefit the company.

Requirements
- Previous working experience as a Technical Writer or similar role in a software development environment.
- Previous working experience in the creation of technical documents for software products, which may include text, diagrams, workflows, and visuals.
- Portfolio of evidence for Technical Writer work that can be provided.
- Previous working experience in the review and refinement of existing technical documents.
- Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence, Notion or similar.
- Experience with Visual/Diagramming tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io or similar.
- Good understanding of the SDLC and software development
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Highly organised, resilient, and adaptable.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to undertake multiple projects.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and convey these into user-friendly documents (including text, images, and workflows)
Responsibilities
Technical Documentation
- Source product information and gain an in-depth understanding of the product and documentation requirements.
- Research and gather information from subject-matter experts, and outline, organize, and develop technical product documents, manuals, and process documentation.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets the requirements and is appropriate for the intended audience.

Product Documentation
- Create audience-appropriate user-friendly product documentation detailing the product, the features, how to use the features, and the benefits thereof.
