Job description
The Editorial & Content Strategy Manager oversees and ensures the quality, consistency, and strategic direction of all editorial outputs of the agency, both client-facing and internal. This role provides editorial leadership across PR and digital projects, guiding freelance and internal writers while ensuring content aligns with brand strategy, audience needs, and performance goals.
The role works closely with Account Managers, Media, Digital, SEO, and Content teams and plays a key role in pitches, proposals, and client engagements. The role follows a hybrid work arrangement and requires attendance at a once-a-week face-to-face workday, typically held every Monday, to support collaboration, editorial alignment, and cross-team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Client Editorial Leadership
- Lead editorial direction for client PR and digital projects across formats (press releases, features, blogs, website content, social posts, etc.)
- Review, edit, and vet all major editorial outputs to ensure accuracy, clarity, tone, and strategic alignment
- Guide and manage outsourced and freelance writers, providing clear briefs, feedback, and revisions
- Collaborate closely with Account Managers, Media, and Digital teams to ensure content supports campaign objectives
Editorial Needs for Agency Marketing
- Oversee editorial execution for agency-owned platforms, including website content, SEO-driven articles, newsletters, social media, and thought leadership assets
- Ensure integrated and consistent messaging across channels
- Work closely with the SEO specialist, Community Manager, and Content Manager to align content with performance goals
Proposals, Pitches & Client Engagements
- Support in the development of proposals, pitch decks, and credentials from an editorial and narrative perspective
- Participate in client meetings and pitches as needed, providing editorial and messaging input
Freelance & Resource Management
- Continuously expand, vet, and manage the pool of freelance writers based on quality, reliability, and specialization
- Step in to handle urgent or high-priority editorial requests when freelance resources are unavailable

- Exceptional Writing & Editing Skills: strong command of language, structure, and storytelling across formats
- Editorial Judgment & Attention to Detail: able to spot gaps, inconsistencies, and risks quickly
- Strategic Content Thinking: understands how content supports PR, digital, SEO, and brand objectives
- Stakeholder & Team Collaboration: works effectively with internal teams and external writers
- Project & Deadline Management: handles multiple outputs and urgent requests without compromising quality
- Coaching & Feedback Skills: able to guide writers constructively and elevate overall editorial standards
