Technical Writer

A Technical Writer is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Norwood, MA area. This role involves creating, updating, and maintaining clear, user-friendly technical documentation to support manufacturing operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $40 - 50 per hour

Work Hours: 8am to 5pm

Education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Review and standardize SOPs and checklists for clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
• Collaborate with SMEs in production, quality control, and safety for information gathering.
• Develop documentation suitable for production employees and new hires.
• Maintain version control and ensure consistent formatting and accessibility.
• Identify and improve gaps in existing SOPs.
• Align documentation updates with training and onboarding efforts.
• Use visual aids and step-by-step instructions to improve usability.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Regularly review and update documents as processes change.

Skills

• Ability to translate complex processes into clear, concise documentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and documentation tools.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and OSHA standards is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Comfortable working in loud, fast-paced manufacturing environments with prolonged standing.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 2+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in manufacturing/industrial/production settings.
