Content Strategist
Position Summary: The Content Strategist will develop strategic content plans and manage projects to support and advance Sky Lakes goals, initiatives, and priorities through multiple media modalities for a variety of audiences. Oversee brand guidelines and adherence. This position will manage the organization’s brand journalism program (LIVEsmart print and online). The Content Strategist will work alongside marketing, communications, and health professionals to plan and execute strategic communications as a member of the Marketing Communications Department. This position reports to the Director, Marketing & Communications.
Qualifications
Required:
- Possess a bachelor's degree in communications, writing, journalism, marketing, or a related field, along with proven experience working with digital platforms, data analysis, and content management.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, public relations, reputation and brand management, editing, project management, content development, and customer service are essential.
- The candidate must be able to perform effectively under deadline pressure while managing multiple projects at once.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide range of personalities are critical.
- The role requires someone who can work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a self-starting attitude.
Preferred:
Experience working in health care or related fields.

The role of a PR Content and Brand Strategist requires a high level of mental focus, creativity, and adaptability in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. Candidates must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and consistent brand messaging. This position demands strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to synthesize complex information quickly, and a strategic mindset for problem-solving and content planning. The role involves frequent computer use, including extended periods of sitting, typing, and screen time. Occasional travel, presentations, or in-person client and media engagements may be required. The position also requires flexibility to respond to emerging news cycles or brand-related issues outside of standard business hours.
Essential Job Functions
- Managing editor of brand journalism program (LIVEsmart-online and print), including developing story ideas, managing editorial calendar, editing content, writing content, developing other content, including graphics, photos, videos, etc.
- Coordinates the publication of content on social media channels.
- With the Sr. Digital Marketing Manager, manage SEO strategy and evaluation of content performance, including working on web projects.
- Develops and/or contributes to communications strategies, processes, and project plans for Sky Lakes, both internally and externally.
- Manages and regularly audits digital assets for the organization, including but not limited to skylakes.org, and other digital resources to ensure content is accurate and up to date
- Edits and reviews other content for quality, branding consistency, SEO, strategies, organization goals, and user experience/accessibility.
- Manages the Marketing Communications portal, including brand guidelines, templates, etc.
- Assists with marketing and communications campaigns as needed.
- Performs research and analysis on consumer thoughts and trends.
- Creates specifications and content appropriate for the brand's customer personas.
- Develops content governance guidelines for tone, style, and voice of all content, and ensures they are followed
- Ensure content is consistent across all delivery platforms.
- Tracks and calculates content ROI.
- Ensures that content strategy meets organizational objectives.
- Analyzes content marketing strategy to evaluate success.
